Lent 2019 Midweek Groups: ‘Life Source’

At times prayer can seem like hard work or a bit of a mystery. At other times it’s an encounter with the living God. Wherever you are on the journey of faith, this course of 5 small group sessions will encourage a discovery of new-found joy and delight in prayer – for novices and old hands alike.”

In five sessions, each of about 90 minutes, this course aims to explore:

Source of Life – prayer as a relationship
Source of Joy – prayer as enjoying God
Source of Light – prayer as listening
Source of Wholeness – prayer as honesty
Source of Love – prayer as care.

Groups will start in the week beginning 11 March and meet weekly, ending in the week before Palm Sunday 14 April.

We aim to offer groups on different days and at different timeslots (afternoon or evening) to suit the availability and preferences of all who wish to take part. To facilitate this, offers to host and/or share in leading groups will be welcome!

To register your interest, please add your name to the sign-up sheet in the vestry corridor – indicating your available days/times in order of preference, and your availability to host and/or lead.

“Learning to pray is so simple, it takes a lifetime to achieve. Here is a book about praying, which is rooted in God and in our humanity, full of good sense, encouragement and joy. I commend it most warmly.”   – Bishop Christopher Herbert
