\nWalk when you can or take public transport.
\nCar Share scheme<\/p>\n

Flying abroad<\/span> <\/strong>
\nResearch alternative ways to get abroad \u2013 drive, train\u2026.<\/p>\n

Say no to packaging<\/span><\/strong>
\nWhen shopping, take your own bags and say no to any un necessary packaging<\/p>\n

Single Use Plastic\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
\nSay no to single use plastic and take part in schemes such as Plastic Free July to experience for yourself where the problem areas are.<\/p>\n

Meat\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>
\nIt causes deforestation – Farmers are clearing large areas of forestation to make space for cattle.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Greenhouse gases emitted from livestock (especially beef)<\/p>\n

Re Use<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Don\u2019t bin it, could someone else use. \u00a0There are many ways to sell on items that you no longer need and make a bit of money:
\n<\/span>– \u00a0EBay<\/a>, Vinted<\/a>, Facebook Marketplace<\/a>
\n– \u00a0Alternatively, Charity Shops will always take your pre loved items for others to benefit from.<\/p>\n

Use borrow schemes rather than buying new \u2013 Merton\u2019s Library of Things, Clothing Swaps<\/p>\n

Compost<\/span> <\/strong>
\nCompost your food waste to reuse on the garden when planting<\/p>\n

Paper\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>
\nRe use paper as scrap and make sure that you print on both sides<\/p>\n

\u00a0Recycle<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n

Could the items be made into something new?<\/p>\n

Plastic, cardboard, paper, glass<\/span><\/strong>
\nCan all be recycled weekly or fortnightly with your local council.<\/span><\/p>\n

Soft plastics\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>
\nCan be taken to most supermarkets and recycled<\/p>\n

Use glass containers at home for food storage.
\nBoxes can be turned into craft material for children.
\nMaterial from clothes, duvets can be turned into other items.
\nMany places will take old mobile phones, printer cartridges, make up\u2026.. to recycle.
\nStamps and batteries can be donated and recycled \u2013 we have a box here at Trinity.<\/p>\n

Refill<\/strong> should also be added to the R\u2019s scheme as so many companies exist now that refill existing bottles or containers.<\/p>\n
