{"id":15954,"date":"2021-01-12T10:49:02","date_gmt":"2021-01-12T10:49:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.trinitywimbledon.org\/?p=15954"},"modified":"2021-02-27T14:56:15","modified_gmt":"2021-02-27T14:56:15","slug":"churches-called-to-unite-in-prayer-for-our-nhs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.trinitywimbledon.org\/index.php\/churches-called-to-unite-in-prayer-for-our-nhs\/","title":{"rendered":"Churches called to unite in prayer for our NHS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trinitywimbledon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1038923.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"274\" height=\"220\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-15955\" src=\"https:\/\/www.trinitywimbledon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1038923.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.trinitywimbledon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1038923.png 274w, https:\/\/www.trinitywimbledon.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/1038923-150x120.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Churches nationwide will have been praying for those who work in the NHS throughout the Covid-19 situation, and many have been providing resources for churches and individuals to do so.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, there was a feeling this morning at a meeting of Churches Together in England (CTE) that this is a key period in which we are being called to pray in a sustained way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Covid-19 threatens to overwhelm our health service and continues to inflict pain and loss,\u00a0churches across England are encouraged to join together in a sustained commitment to pray for our National Health Service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The URC commends to your attention the suggestion of the\u00a0Baptist Union of Great Britain, one of CTE\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cte.org.uk\/Groups\/234690\/Home\/About\/Membership_of_CTE\/Member_Churches_of\/Member_Churches_of.aspx\">50 national Member Churches,<\/a> that we focus our prayer on five key areas.\u00a0These have been written by a senior A&amp;E nurse in a large teaching hospital:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pray for all the NHS staff for their own safety, energy and peace in dealing with each and every patient.<\/li>\n<li>Pray for those in hospital leadership, for wisdom and for good decisions to give the best outcomes for patients.<\/li>\n<li>Pray for patients; for healing, for peace and ultimately to fight this disease and get home and pray for their relatives who feel helpless.<\/li>\n<li>Pray for the vaccine, that it will and is working against this latest strain of Covid-19.<\/li>\n<li>Pray for a reprieve and an end to Covid-19.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Churches nationwide will have been praying for those who work in the NHS throughout the Covid-19 situation, and many have been providing resources for churches and individuals to do so.
