Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service – a Service of Shadows
Tenebrae is a contemplative service that focuses on the suffering of Christ. During this service, readings are presented that detail the story of Christ’s passion, while the music evokes a sense of his pathos. The power of silence and darkness that accompanies the service adds to the dramatic effect of this momentous day. As the lights are gradually extinguished, those in attendance are encouraged to reflect on the depth of Christ’s suffering, death and love.
The Service, at 7.30pm, includes Holy Communion.
