Faith in Action

FIA-logo_sqFaith in Action (FIA) was set up in 2004 when a number of faith and other groups in the London Borough of Merton decided to work together to try to help homeless people in the local area.

FIA aims to provide support, information and assistance to homeless or precariously housed individuals, including those with addictive behaviours, who are generally ‘harder to reach’ and for whom there are currently gaps in service provision.

Every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year, FIA runs a Homeless Drop-in Centre with the help of volunteers, including members from Trinity.  On average 50+ vulnerable people attend each session.  As well as a warm and friendly welcome they can get breakfast, a hot lunch and access to a range of other services.

Trinity also supports FIA with gifts at Christmas and in response to special appeals for clothing or toiletries. We have a Jams and Preserves stall along with the Traidcraft stall after church on Sundays, which raises money for FIA.

Faith in Action are delighted to introduce a video, produced by media students at Brooklands College, Weybridge. This 4-minute film tells the story of Ryan, a homeless young man who visits the Faith in Action Merton Homeless Drop-In.
