Holiday Club

During half term we ran our Autumn holiday club. This year’s theme was ‘Polar Explorers’ and we explored the lives of five New Testament figures: Philip, Stephen, Paul, Timothy and Andrew. Our craft activities saw us make Philip in a chariot, woven compasses, a (almost) life-size Polar explorer (complete with furry hood) and a Timothy comic strip. We played ‘ten pin ‘poling’, island relay, ‘what’s in the back-pack’ and sleeping bag relay.

Each day we also had a competition to see who was the quickest to put on all the Polar explorer clothes, and this was the children’s favourite activity, with Kate the overall winner. Music (and inflatable microphones and guitars) was provided by Andrew, and the ten children who took part had a wonderful time.

We’ll be running our next holiday club at Easter. Thanks to Gillian and Hannah who organised the club and all the helpers who ran games, crafts, provided resources and made refreshments.
